Before + After is a cosy laneway cocktail bar tucked below street level at 181 George St, Brisbane City, known for its relaxed vibe and thoughtful drinks menu that leans into amaro and classic cocktails.  We went for a few cocktails — the bartenders were friendly and happy to chat through options and recommendations, and drinks were well made with creative flavour profiles. It’s a bit hidden down an alley but that actually adds to the speakeasy feel, and the space feels intimate without being too cramped.  Only downside is that it’s small and can get busy later in the night, so if you want a seat at the bar or a quieter experience, go earlier in the evening.  Great spot for cocktails in the city if you’re after something a bit different from the usual hotel bar.

Loved our visit to Before and After! Riley was so attentive and thoughtful in his explanation of the cocktails and the Amaros available. He was super welcoming and easy to talk with! He even made some great resturant recommendations! I highly recommend checking out Before and After.

Highly recommend! A cozy bar with a good variety of beverages and drinks and a great surprise for your friends! We tried the Sazerac which was beautiful. They have nibbles to have on the side. Our friends didn't know where we were going so we just guided them through when we got there the supprize on their faces was priceless.

Had an amazing time at this bar! Riley, our bartender, was absolutely brilliant his service was top-notch and he looked after us so well. His knowledge of cocktails was impressive, and he tailored each drink perfectly to our tastes. cocktails we had was delicious and exactly what we needed! 😮‍💨🍹 The bar atmosphere was incredible, great vibes, awesome music, prices for cocktails were just right, and the overall experience was amazing.Will definitely be coming back.

Not a single fault to be found. I love my time at b&a ♥️ Service, Staff, Ownership, Processes and Bar management all absolutely exceptional. Rare to find a venue where absolutely everybody in it has a drive and a passion to share their knowledge of the industry with their customers to provide the best service possible. Happy 3rd birthday- many more to come x

I had the white fang and brandy Alexander and they were delicious. Such a intimate lovely bar and the bar staff were so lovely. If you want a snack the cheese plater is a must. So good 🤤

If you like chill and lowkey, this is the place for you. It’s a hidden underground bar with the most vintage speakeasy vibe, perfect for dates and catchups. The drinks are spectacular and the menu changes seasonally. The staff are amazing and always helpful with explaining drinks, flavours and all that. And if you don’t like it, they are more than happy to make something else 🥰 highly recommend 10/10!! Ps: the toilet is four flights of stairs so do your business beforehand 🤡

Skilled barman, friendly and attentive. Visited after dinner during the Xmas break, to finish the night with a couple of drinks. Find the entrance at the back of an alley. If you know Amaro, they have various options to ease your thirst. If you want to go on a discovery, talk to the barman, they will happily offer suggestions (from lighter to stronger). Some light snacks are also available to get you going.

What a find! Waiting for friends to go to dinner and what a place to do that.amazing cocktail creation, super friendly staff and a wonderful warm room to just hang out. Charcuterie board was a fabulous addition. On my return list for my next visit.

Rolled in here early evening before Christmas with the wife. We were looking for somewhere to have a quiet drink before heading to dinner. Hard to find but go down the lane way, turn left and the door on the left. Its just like a Seattle Uni Sector find. Felt out of place going in but made to feel welcome and like we had been 1000 times before. The young fellow at the bar was knowledgeable and talked about what we liked. The menu was hard for us to pick something as its not an experience we have had before. Again our attentive chap led us through like a professional. Had some drinks, excellent mixology and selection recommended. Thanks again for a great experience.
